DERRICK J. MCBURROWS

Derrick J. McBurrows is an experienced attorney who develops unique strategies that are tailored to the unique facts of each client's respective case.

Derrick is a former state prosecutor with the Florida Department of Health in their medical and allied services divisions where he assisted in the prosecution of doctors or other various medical professions such as massage therapists when these licensees were alleged to have violated standards of practice in their respective fields.

Additionally, Derrick is a former state prosecutor for the Department of Business and Professional Regulation in the construction division where he assisted in the prosecution of licensed contractors within the state of Florida when violations of the practice act were alleged to have occurred.

Personal Injury

Derrick is passionate about serving the needs of his community which has been demonstrated by him serving on the Leon County Sheriff's Office's Citizen Advisory Council Committee. Derrick is also a board member for Boys Town of North Florida and in 2020, Derrick was awarded volunteer of the year with the Legal Aid Foundation of Tallahassee for providing exceptional legal services in the area of family law for clients lacking financial resources.

Derrick is the President of Tallahassee Barristers for the year 2020-2021 and in Derrick's spare time he enjoys coaching a mock trial team at Florida State College of Law, the institution of learning that he previously received his law degree.

Derrick is well equipped to serve the needs of his clients and he prides himself on his ability to hear what each of his clients needs are and developing the most appropriate legal strategies to put each client in the best legal position to obtain that client's desired or most practical outcome.
